I use animated GIF screenshots of my screen for application development work pretty much on a weekly basis. Fax studio 1 5 – templates for pages. I've used some free platforms that can sort of get the job done in a pinch. However I have found over the years that good software is worth paying for. Gifox can be grouped into this category. It is a very polished, feature-rich experience that gives you enough settings to customize your videos, while keeping the core application simply and streamlined.
Works great
I don't understand all the whining. Sometimes you have to buy new stuff for a variety of reasons. This is a great tool, and as a fellow software developer, I can only imagine the time it took to craft this tool and make it so easy to use. Just buy the next version, people! We developers are probably in it for the joy of coding but ALSO to feed our families. How's that whole 'buy it once and demand it forever' work when you buy socks and dishsoap? Sheesh.
They UNETHICALLY Broke the Old App On Purpose to Force Users to Purchase Again
Shameful. Company have decided to abuse their existing, loyal users. I paid for the original Gifox but since upgrading to macOS Big Sur, Gifox stopped working and so I was forced to download 'Gifox 2'. There is no option or way to transfer the existing license over to the new app and the user is forced to pay AGAIN for a new app. This is fraudulent and unethical and leaves a sour taste in the mouth of existing customers. I am about to delete both apps and find an alternative. Developers need to learn to take care of their existing users. UPDATE: You can use QuickTime (FREE) to record the screen as a video file and use Gifski (ALSO FREE) to convert the video to a GIF. No need to pay/use for the shameful Gif Fox ever again.
